I found this poem by chance while searching through The British Newspaper Archive. It is from The Morning Post of 3rd November 1815 possibly written by the brother or son of one of those who died at The Battle of Waterloo which had taken place a few months earlier on 18th June 1815.
I think it's a remarkable, powerful poem not least because of the age of the writer. Who was "R.G.T" and who were Henry and Susan? We will probably never know.
